There has been a lot of conversation lately about how AI is reshaping the creative industry, and understandably, it is making many designers feel uneasy, myself included.

Will AI replace creative roles? Is it going to dilute originality? Are we at risk of becoming irrelevant in our own profession?

These are fair concerns, and I have felt them too. But the more I explore, the more I realise that AI does not have to be a threat to creativity. When used with intention, it can be a powerful collaborator. It can help us speed up repetitive tasks, experiment with more ideas, and open creative pathways we might not have discovered on our own. It is not a case of humans versus machines. It is about working with the tools available to enhance our work.

That is why I am excited to be starting the Creative Skills Academy, an 8-week course delivered by General Assembly in partnership with Adobe, designed to help creatives build the next generation of design skills, with AI integrated into the learning journey.

As part of the programme, I’ll be diving into topics like:

✨ How to combine design principles with emerging tech

✨ Ways to use AI to enhance creativity, not replace it

✨ Tackling real-world projects that challenge both skill and strategy

✨ Develop my portfolio showcasing thoughtful, future-facing design work

This is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and grow. The creative landscape is changing, and I am ready to grow with it.
